Since 'vb.exe' was developed for Win98/WinMe, several extra steps are
needed to install 'vb.exe' under Windows 2000, I hope to improve on
this in the future but for now this is what must be done:
(these instructions seem to work on XP, very similar to 2000 install)

(These instructions assume you have previously installed the Creative
 Labs Drivers)

01> Make a folder (on the desktop) called 'vb' and copy 'setup.exe' into it.
 
02> Start 'setup.exe' by double clicking on it, it will say that it needs to
    do several things to complete the installation, click ok but don't
    reboot after it 'vb.exe' closes.

03> Insure that the following files don't exist:
        c:\winnt\inf\iausb.inf'
        c:\winnt\inf\iausb.pnf'
        c:\winnt\inf\oem0.inf'
        c:\winnt\inf\oem0.pnf'
        c:\winnt\system32\drivers\iausbsys.sys
    Remove them if still there, there appears to be a bug in the
    win2k install from creative-labs, in that it actually installs their
    driver as 'oem0' instead of 'iausb'.
    The folder c:\winnt\inf' is usually hidden so you may
    need to change the 'Folder Options' under the 'Tools'
    tab to display it, or do it in a 'cmd' window.
   
04> Click on the 'Start' button,
    then click on 'Settings',
    then click on 'Control Panel', which should
    bring up the 'Control Panel' window.

05> Double-Click on the 'System' Icon which should bring up the
    'System Properties' panel.

06> Click on the 'Hardware' tab then on the 'Device Manager' Button,
    which should bring up the 'Device Manager' window.

07> Expand the 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' line by clicking on
    the '+' button next to it. With the device is plugged in you should
    now see a line that says:
      'Creative VoIP Blaster Internet Telephony Device'
    Double-Click on this line, which should bring up the properties
    for this device.

08> Click on the 'Driver' tab and then the 'Update Driver' Button, this
    should bring up the 'Upgrade Device Driver Wizard'.

09> Click the 'Next' Button, and then insure that:
    'Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can
     choose a specific driver'
    is selected, then Click the 'Next' Button.

10> Click the 'Have Disk' Button, which should bring up the 'Install From
    Disk' window, click on the 'Browse' button and navigate to the
    'vb' folder you created in step 1 above. Enter the 'driver' folder,
    then double-click on the 'vb_usb.inf' file.

11> You should now be back at the 'Install From Disk' windows with the
    'vb_usb.inf' file selected, so click on the 'OK' button.

12> You should now be back at the 'Upgrade Device Driver Wizard', with
    'Vb_Usb.Sys USB VOIP Interface' line under 'Models' selected.
    Click the 'Next' Button.

13> You should get another windows which asks you to
    'Start Device Driver Installation', click the 'Next' Button.

14> This should do a bring up a final window which says
    'Completing The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard', click the
    'Finish' Button.

15> You should now have the device running whith the correct driver. Unplug
    the device and plug it back in, then start 'vb.exe' and it should find
    the device and create the file 'vb.id' and go into the 'waiting for call'
    state.
